Japanese company completed a succesfully flying car test

Japanese company has successfully tested their ever first flying car which is believed to be a game-changing in the Japanese Transport industry.

An illusion we always see in sci-Fic movies of cars zipping around the skyline as simple as driving in the streets seems not to be far away from actual reality happening in this planet earth very soon and not any other planet apart from where we are now. A lot of companies around the world have been working so hard to make this decade-old dream of a flying car come true but very few with little success and a Japanese a company named Sky Drive Inc is among companies indicating that this dream can be achievable even quicker.

On August 25th 2020, Sky Drive Inc stated in a news release that it completed its first public demonstration for a flying car in Japanese history. The amazing test drive of the first flying car in Japan took place at Toyota Test Field which is ones of the largest and home to Toyota car company development base.

In a test, Sky Drive’s flying care named SD-03 manned with a pilot successfully took off and circled the test field for about four minutes which was quite amazing to witness by the Japanese people were to observe the test.

The SD-03 is designed in a futuristic way as seen in the photo above, it has eight motors to ensure safety in emergency situations and so far it’s the world’s smallest electric takeoff and landing vehicle that can occupy the parking space of two cars according to the report from the company.

Sky Drive CEO Tomohiro Fukuzawa said in a statement.

"We are extremely excited to have achieved Japan's first-ever manned flight of a flying car in the two years since we founded SkyDrive... with the goal of commercializing such aircraft,"  he further continued "We want to realize a society where flying cars are an accessible and convenient means of transportation in the skies and people are able to experience a safe, secure, and comfortable new way of life."

The Japanese government as well the company hopes to make the flying car the future and part of normal life which means it should not be very expensive but affordable to many citizens.  With this successful flight test, it means many more test will continue throughout in the future especially out of the Toyota Test field by the end of this year and its also aiming to continue developing more technologies to enhance the capabilities of the vehicle as well launch the car in 2023 however, the potential  price of the vehicle has not been released yet.

The benefit of using a flying car is that, it will be faster, no traffic jam and environmental friendly since it will be electric but it will still face a lot of challenges such as commercial licensing, traffic management in the sky  and  public safety issues as you know aircraft accident are quite serious so most people might be too afraid to acquire this kind of technology.
