TIKTOK APP FIGHTING MANY BATTLES TO AVOID BEING BANNED

Tiktok video sharing App has been so much busy fighting for survival and the fight seems not to be ending any soon. Tiktok which is the worlds biggest App on Monday 24th of August sued the US government over Trump Executive order claiming the order or the law was enacted with a piece of baseless evidence rather with a political motive.

At the same time, a Vietnamese firm known as VNG has sued Tiktok over music licensing issues which are a very complicated issue that Tiktok will have to deal with it in addition to whatever is on their plate in the United States of America. To make things harder, according to Bloomberg, the government of England or the United Kingdom (U.K) has begun preparing to put government restrictions on TikTok activities in the United Kingdom.

TikTok is really busy because, in the midst of all these going on, they are really trying hard to come up with a deal that would allow them to resume their App operation in India after it had been banned from the Indian market a few months ago. Indian government banning of TikTok has been so much pain to TikTok since it made them lose a market of over 400 million subscribers yet due to the Indian population, TikTok had much more potential to grow even more in India.

To make matters worse, TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer resigned on Thursday 24th of August 2020. Kevin Meyer who Was a former Disney executive had only joined TikTok just over 3 months ago and he said that this was not the job he signed up for. There has been a lot of controversies about his hiring by TikTok, most people believed that Tiktok,s Chinese parent company ByteDance had hired him with a motive of getting favor from the US regulators since Kevin Mayer is an American citizen therefore he being TikTok CEO would reassure the US regulator about TikTok businesses.

Reports coming states that even Kevin Mayer was left out of many negotiations to sell TickTok which was supposed to be headed by him but instead its being headed by ByteDance founder and CEO Zhang Yiming. This kind of made him felt like there no nothing more to do in the company and to make matter worst, the company is having a lot of issues every now and then since he joined the company, therefore, making him say “This is not the job he signed up for”.

Among the companies recently showed interest to buy Tiktok are Microsoft, Oracle, Walmart, and others.  Microsoft and Oracle have emerged as topmost interested companies since President Donald Trump executive order to ban Tiktok in the United States of America. Walmart who has lately expressed interest in buying Tiktok is teaming up with Microsoft but before it tried to Team up first with Alphabet and Softbank which didn’t work out all. iPhone maker Apple Inc when asked whether they are also interested in acquiring TikTok replied that they are not interested at all.
