Hong Kong pro-Beijing government disqualified a dozen of pro-democracy candidates from aspiring in this year September's Legislative election

On Thursday today, a report coming from Hong Kong states that, a dozen of democracy activist has been disqualified from standing in Septembers legislative election, a move which has highly been criticized by the rest of the world.

Pro-democracy activist disqualified are Joshua Wong, Gwyneth Ho, Lester Shum, Tiffany Yuen, Fergus Leung and many more others.

One of the city's best known democracy activist, Joshua Wong stated..

"Beijing shows a total disregard for the will of the Hatemongers, tramples upon the city's... autonomy and attempts to keep HK's legislature under its firm grip," Wong wrote in a tweet.

The rest are chosen by industry bodies and special interest groups who reliably vote for pro-Beijing figures.

So the pro-democracy parties were hoping to capitalize more seats in the legislative council this year in-order to allow them to keep fighting for the independence of Hong Kong which is almost eroded away by china.

Prior to this election, authorities had barred 18 democrats from running in local polls, according to a report by the rights group Civil Rights Observer.

At least six young candidates were barred from the previous legislative poll in 2016, including pro-independence leader Edward Leung, who has since been jailed on a rioting charge.

The move is showing China's aggressive policy toward Hong Kong city with the intention to keep a grip on all the political activities of Hong Kong hence making it to become like a main land China.
